The Journey of Katsan
The story of Katsan begins with a passion for pastry craftsmanship. Abdullah Topcuol, who started his career at a young age, spent decades mastering his craft before taking a significant entrepreneurial step in 1975 by founding Abdullah Patisseries in Yeşilyurt and later in Yeşilköy.
In the mid-1980s, driven by his expertise and innovative mindset, he developed a pioneering pastry improver, laying the foundation for industrial production. This vision materialized in 1988 with the establishment of Katsan Food in a modest 400 m² facility, marking the transition from craftsmanship to large-scale manufacturing.
One of the most remarkable milestones of this journey was the creation of the Ovalette brand. At a time when such products were largely imported, expensive, and difficult to access, local production in Türkiye became a turning point for the development of the pastry industry. In the early 1990s, the first whipped cream powder under the same brand was introduced.
Today, Katsan operates in a modern 25,000 m² production facility, manufacturing around 1,500 product varieties and exporting to more than 40 countries—standing as a strong and trusted global brand.
